Accordion

I saw the print and the accordion pleats on this top and instantly fell in love. I initially thought it was a skirt and spent a good 3 minutes trying to pull this top over my legs. I gave up that method and tried to pull it on over my head and planned to shimmy it down to my waist when i discovered it was a top. I laughed so hard i bet the people in the neighboring stalls thought i was a little nuts.

Moonlight

Two days ago (Sunday) I spent my evening outside with my youngest siblings. Running and climbing things, slide races, and swinging as high as we could go. Spring just arrived, and i'm loving it ridiculously! I spent the day studying but the singing birds seemed to call for me, and the sun seemed to shine very invitingly into my window, and i had the strongest urge to run around in this full skirt. So after struggling to pay attention to my studies for hours, i gave up and ran outside. And did the only logical thing to do after the sun sets; wear shades and look @ the moon:-)

Gold Statement

I was running a bit late this morning and wasn't able to really come up with any outfit combinations. So i wore one of my chain belts as my necklace to add a bit of interest to my otherwise basic outfit.

I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! This is what i wore on Friday. i was w/out a photographer on Friday and I don't have a tripod, so it was quite a task taking these pictures. My makshift tripod was my purse, and the camera was set to a 10 sec timer, and then i ran into place. Vey comical, as sometimes i ended up with shots of just my head, or my arm.

Yesterday was also my sister's birthday, and since i couldn't get off work to spend the day w/ her, i took her to a party being hosted by a friend. Before we went to dance the night away, we stopped for a pre-dance meal at IHOP. After scarfing down Chocolate Pancakes (Chocoholics Unite!!!), we headed over to the party were we proceeded to dance the night away...at least till 4, because some of us have work in the morning.

Purple

Today is one of those days that for no good reason, i have nothing interesting to say. Maybe it's because i was thrown off my usual routine, or because i woke up too early. The only thing worth mentioning is that i've jumped back on the exercise bandwagon. It'll be interesting to see how long it lasts. I worked out yesterday, walked for 10mins and ran for 1omins. After months of simply walking to my car or to my classes, my legs cried for ages.

Kinda Professional

Happy Monday Folks!

Today, i was inspired by this beautiful but funky necklace designed by Powerhaus. Of course, i can't afford this lovely necklace on my budget just yet(that's balla status and i'm not there yet, i'm still working with the broke student budget). So during one of my numerous window shopping expeditions, i found somethinga bit similar for without breaking my small bank. Please feel free to tell me what you think of my cheap version..lol.

There's something about waistcoats and pin-stripes that conveys a certain professionalism; at least according to my manfriend. He liked this "semi-professional" ensemble today. I like the color, the different proportions and how the details made this outfit, at least for me. I was a bit iffy about these gray pants but I like the the floor sweeping length and the silver pinstripes on the pants, so i broke down and gave them a try.

Thursday: Purple and Black

Today i had my interview for volunteering with Dress for Success. I was supposed to only have my interview and orientation today, but i was eager to jump right in, so i ended up beginning my volunteering endeavors today. I served as a personal shopper ( i picked it because it sounded right up my alley), and basically i helped the ladies pick out the outfits they needed. It was actually fun, but of course as with everything, there's always that one person who tries your patience, but apart from that it was great.
Now for my outfit. The sun simply would not come out today so i kinda echoed the weather by dressing kinda dark. I'm thinking of investing in some more colors of this hat for the remainder of winter. It kept my head warm and i didn't have to worry about the wind whipping my hair about, i love cute and functional things.

Stylish but Comfortable-Out Voting!

First off, a special thanks to all you lovely ladies who wished me well during my rough times this week. It was very much appreciated and it definitely made my day!
The name of the game today, as it is most days, was comfort, because i had to stand in line for almost 3hours as i waited in line to vote, and i was told that it was a good day. I keep hearing horror stories on the news about how people(in georgia) are waiting in lines for up to 8hrs (ahhh). Not to say its not a good thing that people are excited to vote. So for the event, I dressed in layers, and thankfully so because it was really cold in the shaded areas, and heated in the sunlight. My advice to those who still haven't voted:
1. Bring a chair - around these parts, the lines tend to be long and after the first hour of little to no movement, your feet will start to hurt.
2. Bring something to keep you occupied and entertained. i brought my trusty Mp3 ,a book ,as well as took dance breaks to stretch my legs. People watching was also fun...however, it probably would have been more fun with a friend. Which leads me to the next one..
3.Bring someone who'll keep you entertained and vice versa. I do believe it'll make time go by a little bit faster and a bit more fun too.
4. Last but not least, and definitely the most important, bring your Patience and lots of it. In events involving the gathering of all people types, colors, sizes, things can get a bit crazy. But armed with patience, things should go fairly smoothly.
5. And you should probably bring your ID, but that goes without saying...

Plus, i secretly think that my nonmatching random purse adds a bit of charm to my outfits...lol.

Okay, so as a part of belt week, i'm supposed to wear outfits w/ belts, and today is the last day. And why not go out w/ a fun mash-up of colors. My purse unifies the look.After work, I went to an African spot called Queens. So fun. I danced so hard, my waist is still hurting, and i can hardly walk (that'll teach me to dance in 3 1/2 inch heels for 4 hours straight w/ out sitting down. i can't even sit straight right now as a type up this post.

I'm working the grayish-purple lace inset shirt(...gruple maybe? no? ok) today.I actually had planned something else to wear this morning, but when i put the outfit on, it felt awkward, and looked awkward and blech...so i ditched it (making me late, as usual) and wore this outfit instead...I quite like it when an outfit comes together effortlessly especially, when its a last minute outfit. That kind of made my day, well that and that the Manfriend brought me lunch today...its always the littlest things.

Blue and Golden Girl

Thursdays! Gotta love'em. My busiest days, however, its always filled with some lovely surprises.. So today, the Manfriend, decided to spend his day off shadowing me. It was loads of fun. We went to my classes, then went to a European Cafe for lunch. So today, as i do on most thursdays, i dressed for comfort and because i knew the Manfriend was tagging along. I wore this blue shirtdress that i know he likes, and wore pants underneath, because for some strange reason, i'm still uncomfortable with wearing tights. The dress came w/ a python print blue belt, but i took it out and put in my own gold skinny belt, add gold shoes and random purple scarf w/ gold accents and BAM! gold accents..lol.
