I decided to wear my vertically striped men's button-down to work, so i paired it with some tailored cropped pants from Anthropologie. I was definitely very comfortable today. Which came in very handy because i sat in traffic for two hours before arriving at school.
A few readers have mentioned or rather asked me how comfortable my shoes are, with questions like " do you really wear your heels all day? " My answer is yes for 2 reasons: the first is because i actually run in each of my shoes (in the shoe store) before i buy them; and yes, i do embarass my shopping partners from time to time because i prance around and jump in my heels to assure that they will not cut into my feet 5-10 mins of wearing them. Secondly, i have an office job that allows me to stay off my feet most of the time. And these shoes especially, happen to be the most comfortable pair of heels i own.

The ASA (African Student Assoc.) at my school had a Fashion Show, and of course i had to go. Except, my camera was uncharged (of all the days) and died 2 mins into the show. There were some student designers there with some pretty impressive pieces, unfortunately, i cannot show them to you.
I'm wearing a dress i made with the bottom piece of cloth from one of my native outfits(the wrapper from a buba outfit). Unfortunately, the only pics i have of it came out a bit blurry. I will find better pictures. Or a better camera.

I found another cobalt blue skirt! Yes! This color is so striking and beautiful and when I saw that this skirt had Pockets and fits me better than the other skirt. So of course, I knew I had to have it. Skirts with pockets always wink at me and trick me into taking them home. Sneaky skirts! I paired it with this crisply striped dress (worn as shirt) for a simple yet eye-catching combination. Lately, I’ve become a bit fascinated with my shoulders, so expect to see them more often, especially with the weather warming up. Yeeeaaah!

I had to put away my shoulders after school for work, but the moment i get off, its going back to shoulders galore!

The sun was nowhere to be found today and in its stead was gloomy rainfall and chilly temperatures. It wasn't the fun kind of wet weather that inspires puddle jumping and makeout sessions in the rain. Nope. This was the "jump back into bed and get cozy till the weather gets nicer" kind of weather. There was fog and the color seemed to be been drained out of nature's usual splendor. I'm a strong believer of the school of thought: when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Or lemon pie. Or lemon bread. Or lemontinis. Or lemon smoothies. Or anything that can be made using lemons(i wonder what other eatables can be made with lemons). So i made lemon smoothies and added my own splashes of color.

I was running a bit late this morning and wasn't able to really come up with any outfit combinations. So i wore one of my chain belts as my necklace to add a bit of interest to my otherwise basic outfit.

What i wore:
Coat (Urban Behavior)
Shirt (f21)
Pants(Macys)
Belt (Worn as necklace- thrifed)

For the past few mondays, i'm usually decked out in mostly black ensembles which is my traditional monday gear(makes it easier to get dressed), but today, i was too excited and had to wear my newest treasure.
Granted i own quite a few pink items, i never thought i'd own a coat this pink. But i found it while thrifting on Saturday morning and i immediately fell in love. Its unexpectedly cute (albeit loud), and functional (its sooo warm) bring it on super cold winter mornings!
I'm wearing this dress, tucked into a black pencil skirt.

What i wore:
Coat (Vintage)
Dress (Vintage)
Bag (Target)
Tights (Target)
Skirt (F21)
Belt (Thrifted)
Shoes (Madeline Stuart)

Doing it bright and sassy today.
Day 1 of exams this week. After late nights spending studying,
I decided to dress in BRIGHT power colors today
look good, feel good, test good? let's hope it works...lol.
Plus i get a chance to wear my SUPER SASSY shoes, which i love to wear!
And the debut of my newest thrifted find...my blue skirt! How i managed to find a skirt that is the same color of my shoes, i'll never know, but i'm sooo glad! Please look w/ me @ the waist of this skirt..do you see the cutout waist its rocking?? love it!
I enjoy getting dressed in the morning, its a chance for me to express to the world how i'm feeling that day @ a glance. I usually always feel good about my choices, but today, i feel great...maybe its the colors...is anyone else's mood affected by their clothes?
This is what i wore:
Shirt(H&M from a long time ago)
Skirt (Thrifted can you believe it)
Blue Shoes( Nine West thru Ross)
Gold Belt(Thrifted)
