This is not the outfit my day started out in. I started the day in a simple tank (a glimpse of it can be seen in the last picture of this post)and my anthro skirt of the day( i live in anthro skirts, esp in the summer)as i'd spent the day running a few errands with my mom. On a whim, we stopped by one of my mom's favorite thrifting haunts in Norcross and while browsing thru the racks, this silk blouse caught my eye. I tried it on, fell in love and never took it off. These are my favorite kinds of shopping trips.
Anyone else love it when you walk into a store and just happen to find something that you love??

The Palest Pink

I'm so glad its warmed up these past few days. I love super easy days like this one. Spent hanging out with my family, and then met up for brunch turned lunch with my girls. Good times...
My blouse belonged to my mother. I was searching for something to borrow when i saw this blouse. I paired it with my new pale pink platforms...they're quite comfortable... i think i'm in love.

Old Faithful

One of my favorite things about fall? Blazers...I've built a small collection over the summer. But this black one remains my ALL TIME FAVORITE. I like to call it "old faithful" because no matter how many blazers i acquire, I feel like i'll never tire of this one. Also because i'm pretty sure it complements every single item in my closet. Here's another blouse that's been sitting in my closet waiting for a turn to shine in the blog spotlight. Its a few sizes too big, but it gained access into my closet,thru its fun colors and vibrant print. So for all you blouses out there vying for a spot in my closet, there's only one requirement: be vibrant colored or printed. Bonus points for both.

Queen of Hearts!

This is my costume for Halloween. I'm the Queen of Hearts, but i think most of you probably figured it out. l wore it work, and had to keep explaining to people who i was. lol. Ok, my real costume is soon to be posted. And i did try to stay away from stereotypical sexy cop and stuff like that, but i didn't get very far though..so..be warned. However, i am considering something along the lines of... a sexy mime...lol.

Pretty in Paisley

I'm in the painstaking process of cleaning out my closet so that its filled with items that i absolutely love and feel fantastic in. And i love this paisley blouse. Its a few sizes too big( according to the tag)and it has a turtle neck thing going on, but i'll allow all that if and only if, the print appeals to me in some way. The photos donot really do the blouse justice at all but believe me, the print is absolutely lovely!

Just For Now

I really like the simple colors of this blouse. And this giant clutch...yes. It called my name when i saw it a few months ago. Its perfect for days when i don't want to haul my world around in my usual big bagged glory.Like today.
Oh, and something that caught me completely off guard this weekend:
Do most women start from their shoes and work their way up when planning an outfit? I'd never heard of this until this past weekend...and i've heard it from 2 unrelated sources...(aka it came from friends who donot know each other. lol)
Educate me guys, is it true or am i just completely out of the loop?

Rain and Color

It was a little dreary this weekend. Lots of rainfall and wetness and no sun. On rainy days, i usually add large doses of color to my outfits and today was no different. The top was a recent find from Target, i saw it in blue as well but i picked this orange one because oddly,i don't think i have orange in my closet.
By the way, i saw the new movie by Quentin Tarantino, Inglorious Bastards and it was pretty good.

Sunny

The sun is back out, and we're on our way to warmer weather.I'm soo glad because warmer means less layers. I was out thrifting a while back, and found this grayish/silver blouse. I like the simple color and the ladylike shape of it but i'm wearing it backwards today.
I should have gone to bed early last night because for once i did not have papers or reading to do. But instead, i was up reading Maximum Ride by James Patterson late into the night. I recommend this book for adventure lovers...i can't put it down!

Happy Mondays Everyone!
The weather around here has been gorgeous (upwards of 60 degrees=YES!) so of course i found a skirt to match the weather. Once again i'm spicing up Black Mondays, this time with this funky fuschia tuxedo-like blouse and simple pleated skirt.

Shades of Brown

I love discovering things in my closet. The blouse i'm wearing has been in my closet for at least 4 years without being worn. My mother bought it for me whilst i was in my earlier teenage years, and like most teens at that age i decided i was too cool for it. So it lay in my closet, forgotten for all these years.
Until, early one tuesday morning, when all the stars were alligned, and the sun and the moon where in their right spots, and all the right accompanying items where acquired (early this morning as i frantically tried to find something to wear), a spotlight shone on the blouse, and i just knew i had to wear it.
