I've been missing my traditional clothes because the coldness has made it impossible for me to think of anything other than bundling up in thick layers. I pulled out one of my traditional long skirts and decided to rock that to church..and pretty much the rest of the day.

Skirt- custom made, Jacket and belt-F21, Blouse- Target, Shoes-Michael Kors(from TJMAXX)

This is what i wore out to dinner with a few of my friends. We went to Luckie Lounge and it was such a feast for the eyes and the stomach, which is always a plus. I should have taken pictures of the decor and the yummy food, but i was a bit preoccupied so it didn't occur to me till later on. It also did not occur to me to take pics of my dress without my jacket because by the time my jacket came off, i was more concerned with getting my dance on than with taking pics. We ate and then danced (it becomes a nightclub on weekends) and had a fantastic time. We ended the night by heading over to a Carribean spot to dance the remainder of the night away to some hip-hop, reggae and SOCA!! I usually don't post pics of my night-time gear because i want minimum fuss and freedom to move when i go out (to dance) so my outfits are usually very laid back, but in the spirit of chronicling my 21st birthday events i figured, why not. Its usually a variation of this uniform :a pair shorts , a shirt and a pair of heels .

Bright colors rejuvenate me. So its easy to see why i'm easily inspired by flowers. In the language of flowers, the yellow daffodil means happiness for just being, and is also known as the most sincere flower. So, if you are a little shy, buy a daffodil bouquet and offer and supposedly, your suitor will know from the start how sincere your feelings are.

Rainy days always make me want to stay at home, where its warm and dry, curled up reading a book or catching up on movies and favorite shows while eating chocolate ice cream. But since i have to go to school and work today, the next best thing was to throw on a pair of boots and a dress, and head out to splash about in the rain. On rainy days, boots are absolutely essential for me because i loathe getting my feet wet (when i'm not @ the beach).
This is what i wore:
Coat ( Urban Behaviour )
Sweater (Goodys)
Black Dress (H&M)
Boots (American Eagle)
Gold Wing Belt ( Thrifted)

I went to work and afterwards the plan is to meet up w/ a few folks and then decide whether to just stay in and hang, or head out to a Halloween party. Either way, should be fun!

First off, a special thanks to all you lovely ladies who wished me well during my rough times this week. It was very much appreciated and it definitely made my day!
The name of the game today, as it is most days, was comfort, because i had to stand in line for almost 3hours as i waited in line to vote, and i was told that it was a good day. I keep hearing horror stories on the news about how people(in georgia) are waiting in lines for up to 8hrs (ahhh). Not to say its not a good thing that people are excited to vote. So for the event, I dressed in layers, and thankfully so because it was really cold in the shaded areas, and heated in the sunlight. My advice to those who still haven't voted:
1. Bring a chair - around these parts, the lines tend to be long and after the first hour of little to no movement, your feet will start to hurt.
2. Bring something to keep you occupied and entertained. i brought my trusty Mp3 ,a book ,as well as took dance breaks to stretch my legs. People watching was also fun...however, it probably would have been more fun with a friend. Which leads me to the next one..
3.Bring someone who'll keep you entertained and vice versa. I do believe it'll make time go by a little bit faster and a bit more fun too.
4. Last but not least, and definitely the most important, bring your Patience and lots of it. In events involving the gathering of all people types, colors, sizes, things can get a bit crazy. But armed with patience, things should go fairly smoothly.
5. And you should probably bring your ID, but that goes without saying...
This is what i wore:
Black Peacoat (F21)
Green Hoodie (Max Rave)
Purple Tank worn underneath ( Macys)
Jeans(Macys)
Boots (Chinese Laundry)
Scarf (Target)

I love this little green swing jacket. It’s in my favorite shade of green. Something about it screams, FRESH!! lol. In the spirit of “Belt Week” (my first themed event) I intend on wearing a belt, each day I go to work this week. This is an attempt to try to stick with a theme for 1 whole week (Gasp!) I usually get bored with themes, or run out of ideas after the first two days. Thankfully, I get to take a break on Thursday(that’s my off day) so I can come back in belted style for Friday and Saturday.
Here’s what I wore:
Green Swing Jacket (Go Rave)
White Shirt ( 5-7-9)
Black Skirt ( Express)
Black and White Pumps( BCBG-TJMaxx)

It's HumpDay Folks!
I took yet another day off,to make sure my school work is in order. Once again, keeping it quite casual, and i'm dressed in eye-catching,warm,earthy,colors. Hanging with the Manfriend today, worked on a CIS project, and the plan is to grab lunch, maybe go to the park...the fall weather is kinda nice right now. I've stopped kicking and screaming into the fall season, i'm even appreciative of the coolness its brought. I'm now shopping for winter accesories. I'm going to make and post my list of wants for the winter.

I enjoy getting dressed in the morning, its a chance for me to express to the world how i'm feeling that day @ a glance. I usually always feel good about my choices, but today, i feel great...maybe its the colors...is anyone else's mood affected by their clothes?

Can you tell how much fun i'm having this outfit?

Happy Sunday everyone!
I figured, since this blog is about an Africana's wardrobe diary, its only fair that you get to see me in my native clothing. I don't dress up too often, not because i don't want to, but because there are so few occasions for me to do so. But this morning, i felt inclined to dress natively. In the part of Nigeria where i hail from, this is called a Bubu. This is what i wore:
Bubu (Custom -made)
Silver Shoes (Dillards)
