Happy Monday Everyone!

Hope the weekend was light and easy for you guys. I got to relax a little bit before hitting the books. I met up with a old time friend. By old, i mean i haven't seen her in about a year. It was happy good times for all. Hot summer night spent hanging out, eating and talking about how much we've changed since high school...or not.
It even inspired me to do a flashback post for you guys, especially since its been a long time since i did one.
So click here to go to the post of me in the exact same outfit(rare) about a year ago!!
See how much i've changed...or not in a year!Isn't it amazing how time flies??

Anyone who knows my blog, knows that i love dresses because they cut dressing time into half.I wore this outfit a few days ago to run around town with my mom. The day started very early, with little to time to do my hair, this straw hat was perfect for a hot summer's day. I got this dress last winter and last wore it in Savannah during spring break. Its such an easy dress to wear, which always surprises me because i have a general dislike for strapless clothes.I don't like the incessant adjustments to pull the dresses up and down, and I can't seem to shake the childhood fear that whatever strapless article i wear will inevitably slide down and expose my boobs for the world to see...lol. Thankfully, all the times i've worn this dress, its been utterly easy and generally adjustment-free.

Dress- target, hat- tjmaxx, shoes- newport news,

I've never seen the movie Nurse Betty despite a few random attempts but for the first part of my day, i was convinced that i was channeling an old school nurse attire. I had a long day planned, and it was ridiculously hot, so simple and lightweight was the obvious choice.

Pretty much sums up my intentions for the summer.

Hello Lovelies!!

I hope everyone thoroughly enjoyed their Memorial Day Weekend. Hopefully we all kept in mind the reason for the day.

As much as i love flashy shiny things, i also love simplicity. Which is the word that summed up my look for a majority of the memorial weekend celebrations. And to me nothing says simple, like a dress. And i didn't realize till now that my outfit is completely Targeted...get it?? Because i got it all from Target. Not all at the same time though.
I missed out on the Cynthia Vincent platforms, so i went with these instead. And the dress i've had for about a year or two.

Sometimes you wanna be as girly as can be. And a little sassy too. That's when you pull out a floral dress that shows a little leg. This dress remains one of my favorite dresses in my closet...however you guys know i LOVE dresses, and usually proclaim that each dress i own is a favorite. However, I'm a little biased towards floral dresses. Like this one.

And i couldn't be more ready if i tried.
I spent one of the loveliest weekends Atlanta has seen in a long time, with the boyfriend. We ran errands, stopped for a brief lunch..ok long lunch of yummy chocolate pancakes...(yes folks my chocolate addiction is that bad, i LOVE chocolate pancakes) mall hopped,...and just chilled. It was fantastic.

I dressed ultra feminine and went for my new flats instead of heels. I thought these shoes would quickly become my new favorites as well as my go-to shoes for spring. Unfortunately, i was wrong...these shoes hurt.

The facts are these:
1.I'm a half size(8.5) so i went up to the next size of a 9...and the shoes were still a little snug, but i figure with a few wears, it'll conform to my foot.
2. The clasp for closure started digging into my foot about an hour into wearing it. Leaving a few welts on the top of my foot...no bueno

I'm going to try and fix them somehow because i love these...we'll see how it goes.

More pictures from this past weekend. It was refreshingly warm, so of course i brought out a dress. One of my favorite dresses, just because its so frilly and pretty and i can easily add color to it. And i always do.I also decided to dust off the lowest heels in my closet. I bought them for the color, the unusually shape of the heel and the ankle strap, but quickly lost interest because of the low heel height.
I'm off to go bury my head in 3 books...i have 3 exams tomorrow...in the epic battle between school and me, right now, i think school is winning...anyone else READY for spring break??

I decided to gussy up for the first day of the new year. I brought out a dress that i bought for the spring and winterized it for today. Lots of layers in this outfit even though it can't be seen. For example, i've taken to wearing tights and socks with all my outfits, as opposed to 2 tights like i used to do. I like this method better...i'm just as warm but more comfortable.
I'm excited for the new start...big things to come this year guys... i just know it!!

Ok, this is my last flashback of the year...lol. But i wanted to show you guys, another one of my favorite looks from this time last year.
I'm mixing colors and patterns and i love how it worked out.

By the way, don't forget to enter into the giveaway below, it ends friday :-)

I hope everyone (more so my U.S readers) had a safe and fun Thanksgiving Holiday. Its the day after Thanksgiving and my heart is light but the rest of me is not. I definitely ate alot, and danced my heart out so i am incredibly tired this morning. So i definitely needed an outfit that was little to no fuss and very comfy. Thankfully, the weather was just right so i've been able to get away with the shrug as my only covering for most of the day.

Dress- Old Navy, Shrug- F21, Boots- UrbanOg
I found this dress at F21 last week and couldn't wait to "winterize" it. I wore it this past weekend as it was a bit warm. Paired this whole look with one of my favorite finds of the summer: these brown platforms. They're incredibly cute, but i can't say they're one of the most comfortable shoes i own. I don't wear mustard often, but i'm definitely warming up to it.

For a celebratory dinner this past weekend, i wore a dress i've had in my closet for a while now. A few months ago, I went on a daytrip with the Manfriend. On our way, we passed by a thriftstore, and decided to stop in and browse around. While i was looking thru the dresses, a a fellow shopper, approached me with this dress in hand, handed it to me and said, "here, you seemed like you'd like this dress". I was incredibly suprised, but i thanked her and headed to the nearest dressing room to try it on.i'm grateful to that kind shopper, partly because she was right, i instantly loved the beautiful sky bluish color and 80's prom ruffles. The other part...she definitely made my day.

I have finally come to accept that fall is finally here, and that summer is no more. This was my farewell to summer outfit. And yes, i am aware that i seem to find random themes to dress up for and i'm ok with that. It was a gorgeous day, and i knew it would be one of the last days that i'd be able to just seat outside and engage in one of my all-time favorite activities...reading. So i packed up some of my favorite books from my younger days and headed to the park, where i reread my favorite portions of books i love, and day-dreamed the afternoon away.

I think we all enjoy life a little more if we try not to sweat the small stuff. And i Really need to practice what i preach as most of the time i'm a first class worrier. I'm trying to worry less, case in point, my dress. It bothered me that the dress looks unfinished as i never hemmed it after i chopped off 1/4 of it. It'll get done one of these days, but for now, i'm just going to continue to enjoy the crispness in the air, and the swishyness of this dress.

I brought out my winter coat and added yet another dress to my growing collection of dresses.I haven't had a chance to alter this dress yet, but thanks to the big belt and some clever tucking, i was able to update the dress to my liking.I knew I needed to add some edge to the dress without removing its ladylike element because in its original state, it was mid-calf length. And combining the original length and dramatic billowy sleeves, would have created a very outdated look. I purposely left it slightly longer in the back, and i like how it turned out.
