I've been missing my traditional clothes because the coldness has made it impossible for me to think of anything other than bundling up in thick layers. I pulled out one of my traditional long skirts and decided to rock that to church..and pretty much the rest of the day.

I'm so glad its warmed up these past few days. I love super easy days like this one. Spent hanging out with my family, and then met up for brunch turned lunch with my girls. Good times...
My blouse belonged to my mother. I was searching for something to borrow when i saw this blouse. I paired it with my new pale pink platforms...they're quite comfortable... i think i'm in love.

Lately, i've been a little smitten with plaid. However, when i saw this top while thrifting, i didn't like it. But i liked that it was plaid and thought that i could rework it for a sewing project. I haven't gotten around to reworking it just yet, but i'm kinda digging the sleeves on it. I paired it with a plaid patterned skirt that i've had for a while now and should probably wear more often.

For a celebratory dinner this past weekend, i wore a dress i've had in my closet for a while now. A few months ago, I went on a daytrip with the Manfriend. On our way, we passed by a thriftstore, and decided to stop in and browse around. While i was looking thru the dresses, a a fellow shopper, approached me with this dress in hand, handed it to me and said, "here, you seemed like you'd like this dress". I was incredibly suprised, but i thanked her and headed to the nearest dressing room to try it on.i'm grateful to that kind shopper, partly because she was right, i instantly loved the beautiful sky bluish color and 80's prom ruffles. The other part...she definitely made my day.

1 exam down 3 to go and i am extremely ready to be done with testing. All the prep work has left me drained and so tired that i have the urge turn every stationary object into a bed...Yes, its that bad. So, I'm relying on old favorites that have been "winterized" to get me thru this week. Case in point my two-toned dress, because dresses are comfy and shorten dressing time. Go here to see how i wore it in the summer. Ok, fun time over..i'm off to bury my head in more books... i can't wait to come up for air soon, and celebrate in some kind of way. Hope you guys are having a fantastic week!

This is an outfit from last week. I got a bit swamped with school work and my crazy schedule and did not get a chance to post it. At a quick glance, it looks like a dress, but its actually a tunic top worn over a hiked skirt. Plus,it gives my necklace a chance to shine.
The top is a few sizes too big, but i couldn't pass up the chance to quietly show off my money makers: My shoulders. Very subtle.

As with most of my native clothes, i inherited..cough *borrowed but never returned* this outfit from my sweet mom. I rarely dress up in the outfits completely wearing the top and bottom together unless there is a special event. Again i like borrowing *cough stealing* native pieces from my mom because there's so much history behind them. That and because that's the cheapest way for me to get my hands on native clothes being that i cannot sew yet. I plan to learn to sew basic patterns before this year is over.

There's been a chill in the air for the past few days. I've had to break out a few of my winter gear for the chilly mornings. But i won't let a little cold weather deter me from embracing spring. Which to me means wearing this kimono-like wrap top which i love but rarely wear. I'm hoping to change that.

Happy Monday Everyone!!
I was ready to get started on my spring cleaning this weekend to put away my winter gear, but I got distracted and thankfully so. This morning was freezing and the temps are in the 40’s right now. Even as I type this up, I'm on the phone with my sister and she just told me it was snowing. My response,"But its Springtime! And its Georgia! GRRR" I thought I was getting closer to letting go of my tights….i guess not. Spring weather where are you???
As you can see, i have a problem with dressing weather appropriately.During 40 degree weather, i decide i have to wear a skirt. I did try to wear pants, but this morning, a skirt was the only thing that felt "just right". And since the weather won't be spring-like for today, my shoes ought to be.

Thanks to all you very lovely bloggers who stopped by and wished me a happy birthday! I really appreciate it! And a special thanks to the very sweet Kimberly of Fab Finds under $50 who's sent me a package for my birthday. Waiting for mail to arrive becomes a bit more exciting when you know its something other than a bill that'll be arriving.
It cooled down and rained on Thursday (which was my birthday)and so i had to be sensible and put away the high heels that i wanted to wear. I was a bit bummed but i've been assured by numerous kind people that rain on your birthday means blessings :-) I found this dress that is numerous sizes too big, but i'm kinda intrigued by the random paint splotches that look like i may have painted on my dress, but i knew i had to wear it . I wore boots with the dress adding a bit of ruggedness to the girliness of the dress was off to school where i spent hours studying for my accounting midterms. Not the ideal celebration i had planned for my 21st, but i hoping its was well worth it.
Thankfully, i will be celebrating with friends and family during the weekend.

Its my first week back to school after spring break and a part of me is excited because i know that we're basically halfway thru the semester. A bigger part is dreading that familiar but dreaded time at the end, when things get hectic as i make sure i maintain my grades and study for upcoming exams. In the meantime, i'm just trying to stay focused. Still i can't help but think that homework, projects and exams are ruining my college experience... i joke. No one ever tells you that is part of the college experience.
For the second day of the challenge, i could not resist wearing the skirt as what else, but a shirt, tucked in loosely into another skirt, and topped off with my jacket. The manfriend said i looked "dainty with an edge" , what do you guys think?

Ever wonder what you'd wear if you had the chance to explore the Italian countryside on the back of a vespa? Very random, yes, but when i was supposed to be studying the complexities of Microeconomics, i did wonder. And this is what i came up with for a day of exploring Italy on the back of a vespa . Ahh dreams... However, i'm off to class and work afterwards. But a girl can dream right?

Happy Mondays Everyone!
The weather around here has been gorgeous (upwards of 60 degrees=YES!) so of course i found a skirt to match the weather. Once again i'm spicing up Black Mondays, this time with this funky fuschia tuxedo-like blouse and simple pleated skirt.

Let me go ahead and warn you in advance. I look quite melancholy in these pics, please excuse my expression. I'm having a bit of tough week, and although i wish i could hide my emotions behind a well practiced poker face, but the traitor that is my face reveals my every thought... as i'm thinking it.
I promise i'll be back to my normal smiling self as soon as i can, its that or get better are faking smiles or appropriate poker faces.
I'm kind of fascinated by the random strings and ruffles on this shirt. Its so frilly and girly which is right up my alley. I even caught a ton of people staring at the ruffles on my shirt, which i think is hilarious because i this outfit is pretty toned down when compared to my some of my other ensembles. At least, i think that's what they were looking at.
What i wore:
Jacket (F21)
Shirt (Vintage)
Skirt (F21)
Tights (Target)
Shoes (Bakers)
Bag ( Franchesca's Boutique)
