Happy Mondays Guys!
Let me start off by offering immense appologies for not posting at my normal schedule and just disappearing for days. This past week has been one of the most hectic and stressful weeks ever.I felt like i was juggling a thousand things and was barely keeping up. But, with my favorite duo (trusty planner and blackberry) this week should be much, much better.
Onto my outfit.
This is one of the most random purchases i've ever made, even from a thriftstore. And i still love it as much today, as the first day i bought it.Everything about it..from the fringed edges to the squared pattern, all mixed with flashes of silver. Last time i wore it, i called it a cape...i've now decided its a poncho.

Happy Monday Everyone!!
Welcome to another edition of Black Mondays, this time, the focal point is my new favorite scarf from Kim, and my pink peep-toed pumps. I’m realizing that I have quite the collection of black shirts which I guess is good as most of them get numerous chances to shine because of Black Mondays. And this scarf is working as the most comfortable bracelet ever.
I’m gearing up for the crazy busyness that comes with the end of the school semester. I’m not looking forward to the slew of finals approaching, however I am looking forward to being done with a few classes. Especially Microeconomics..no disrespect intended to those who love it though.

Happy Monday Everyone and welcome to another edition of black Mondays. I’m still recovering from my weekend, so this outfit combo was just too easy to pass up. I decided to top off the usual all black with this beautiful off-white dapper blazer and off white peep toe pumps. Here's hoping for an easier week than last week :-)
P.S: Thank you again to all you kind and lovely bloggers who stopped by to wish me a happy birthday. My goal is to stop by each and every one of your blogs to thank you personally. I'm going to resume posting and commenting normally, but be patient with me, the past week has been crazy busy so i'm having to play catch up with all your blogs :-)

Its the second day of my spring break, and i'll be spending it slaving away at work. Ha! Ok, maybe "slaving away" is a bit much.
I 'm really looking forward to tomorrow. That's when the adventures begins. For the remainder of the week, i'll be taking a series of daytrips and exploring Georgia. For anyone familiar with the Georgia area, i'm open to suggestions and willing to drive up to two hours (and not a minute more).
One of the comments yestersday asked if i wear my "creations" . I hope this answers your question :-)

Welcome to another edition of my black monday ensembles. This time there's no bursts of color, just the black palette. It gave me chance to show off the scarf that one of my coworkers gave me just for being AWESOME! I joke. I'm thankful to be surrounded by mostly kind coworkers. This particular coworker so kindly brought this scarf back for me from her trip to New York (Thank you Ms. Susie!!)

An oversize sweater paired with a black blazer and boots seem to be the right combination to beat really cold days that seem to beg for wrapping yourself in a blanket. I'm wearing my favorite oversize sweater for warmth and high cozy factor, and a blazer, that takes the ensemble from,"i'm going to chill w/ my boyfriend" to " i'm dressed down but i'm still going to the office". Topped it all off in my bright pink coat, and i was set to take on chilly winds and low temperatures.

I'm back to my usual "All Black Mondays" and today, the all black attire actually matches my glum mood. In an attempt to lift my spirits, i stuck a red flower in my hair and wore red heels, i'm hoping it works.

Sheer Shirt ( thrifted)
Pants( Victoria's Secret)
Shoes (Joey O)

That's actually what my brother said upon seeing me.I decided to play along and embraced my "bullfighter costume" by breaking out into random marches (where i act like i'm bullfighter) and the occasional battle cry of "Ole!!!"

Random Fact About Real (as opposed to imaginary) Bullfighting:

*Spanish bullfighter's capes are usually pink and gold, but red is also used. Contrary to popular belief ,these colors are used not to provoke the bulls, but because it is easier for the spectators to see. The bulls are actually color blind and are bred to be aggressive.

There was a palpable excitement in the air today, not in my 8 o clock class though because everyone was still asleep in there, but after that, excited people everywhere. Most likely because the 44th and First African American President, Barack Obama was inaugurated into office today. It was such a beautiful occasion, and even though i'm not in Washington, its incredibly exciting to know that i was able to witness history being made. And more importantly i'll even have documentation of what i was wearing. Hehe!

As far as my clothes, I couldn't resist wearing my pink coat again today. Plus, it was just what i needed for today's dip in temperatures because it was once again in the teens when i left home this morning. I wore pants that could be seen as pushing the boundaries of "office appropriate" pants simply because they're so fitted(or tight-like according to my sister). Thankfully i work in a very business casual work place and i have a gray cardi which i think balances out the super fitted look of the pants..

In traditional black monday mode, i'm wearing all black. It really makes getting dressed so much easier when i know i'm wearing mostly black. Threw on a vest for a bit of color (even though its gray) and for function too, my sheer black top needed some sort of coverage on a cold day like today.
What i wore:
Sheer Shirt (Thrifted)
Waistcoat (Macys)
Pants (Papaya)
Shoes (Bandolino -TJMaxx)
Earrings(Gift from sis -Wet seal)
Bangles (Target)

When I was a little girl of about 8 years old, I wanted to a little boy. Not for any serious reasons, but for the simple fact that boys got to have more fun. While I would have to wear dresses and sit primly on the side and play cook(so that my dress didn’t get dirty) , my male cousins got to run around and climb things and “just be boys”.

As I got older , I became more convinced that my life would be much, much easier if I was a boy. My parents would not worry as much about me, therefore allowing me more privileges than is normally allowed to female teens. Now I’m no longer a teen…(hehe I’m in my 20s now) and in my matured wisdom, I have come to accept and love the fact that I am a girl..a young lady now.

While it is a bit more difficult for women due to the slow acceleration of gender equality in the world, many women are out there proving that we(women) can do it just as well as men can. And, we’re doing it while looking absolutely Fabulous!

So with all that being said, I was decided to do menswear today. I do wish I had a pair of oxford pumps to really complete this look ...I think I’m the only girl that still doesn’t have a pair.
This is what I wore:
Blazer (Vintage)
White shirt (Macys)
Black Pants (Papaya)
Shoes (BCBG Girls)

I have a love-hate relationship with blazers. I discovered them in the 8th grade when my mother urged me to wear one for my middle school graduation. I began to hate them because while the other 8th grade girls got to wear full prom regalia to the graduation ceremony, i was clad in blazer and pants. Unbeknownst to me, my mother was trying to prepare me to be different and to embrace that difference.

So how does this relate to the fact that i'm wearing a completely sequined shirt and the sun is still shining? I'll tell you.

No, i did not just skulk home from a party. However, after seeing the disco-ball like effect the shirt and the sun created in my car, i 'm definitely in a party mood.

I'm wearing this shirt because sequins make me smile. I know, the general consensus about them was to leave them in the 80's due to the many cheesy outfits that sequins have inspired. However, i feel with simple combinations like the simple blazer and the black pants, i should be able to get away with wearing a sequined shirt. In the daytime.

What i wore:
Black Blazer (Anne Klein II)
Sequin Top (Vintage)
Black Pants ( Macys)
Ankle Booties(Shoe Land)

Happy Monday Everyone!

Can i again say how hard it is to look cute and warm at the same time? Its quite challenging for me because most of my wardrobe, consists of dresses and skirts but that's not going to stop me from trying. On days when i have to put my legs away (which sucks because i love my runner gams and relish showing them off) i need some sort of pizzaz to look at when i look down at my feet.

Hence the silver shoes!

Okay, just so you all know, i love sparkly things, almost as much as i love color. I mean, i love the basic blacks and whites, but colors and a bit of sparkle make my heart flutter.. And especially in the daytime. I was never a fan of the notion of saving glitzy shoes and dresses only for night time. All that means, at least for me, was that fun pieces (like these shoes) have to sit and wait in its shoebox for a chance to shine.

But not today!

This is what i wore:
Shirt (Macys)
Pants(Macys)
Shoes (DSW)
Hat (H&M)
Coat and Sweater ( F21)
