This past few days, the weather....gorgeous. This outfit is from Friday, right as it was starting to warm up. I'm incredibly over layered, as i hate being cold, so i like to err on the side of too much.
Outfit-wise, i wanted to play with colors and patterns a little bit, so i skipped the expected all-black sweater and paired the patterned gray/black/white one with my striped dress and gray anorak. My pink pashmina and bag add my ever present pop of color.I love being in this striped dress, just cause its so versatile...go here and here to see how i've worn it in the past.
This weekend was simple and easy and while I would love to be able to say that i got a lot of things accomplished this weekend, in all honesty, i didn't. I spent the weekend catching up on sleep and playing outside in the gorgeous weather. I will resume my usual weekend antics next weekend.
Anyway, here's to a fantastic week to us all.
Happy Monday!!

Theres's a sweet feeling that comes from knowing that you know someone remarkably well. But the feeling is even sweeter when you find out "they" know you just as well. The Manfriend picked out and bought me these lovely and new favorite shorts while away on a trip. I got a lot of compliments on them, which made me smile and proudly announce repeatedly "my boyf got them for me"...
The scarf... well its been a while since i've donned a scarf due to the relentless summer heat and humidity. However, today i made and exception due to a hair malfunction. I'm learning my hair and decided to try 2-strand twists...and i don't think i did it properly and i didn't have time to fix it as i had to head to school for my final exams. Hence the scarf....easy fix.

I was never really a fan of the high waisted pants trend, but i bought this pair to give it go. I try not to knock things till i try them. And thank goodness I have to say, they're kinda growing on me. And since i had the Monday Blues, and couldn't find anything to wear, this is what i ended up in. And yes, i did realize that i just wore the same pair of shoes 3 days in a row, but i figure they've rested for a while, since this was the last time i wore them. I will lay them to rest again after today.
This is what i wore:
White Shirt( f 21)
Pants (Macys)
Shoes(Rugged)
Sweater coat (Thrifted)
Scarf(Target)

Today is considerably off to a better start. I’m wearing a scarf which is doubling as my hat on this cold fall morning, so forgive the hat hair. In a bit of the spirit of yesterday, I’m realizing more and more, that although there’s always little things that everyone wishes they can change; however, for the most part, I’m blessed. And that realization has led me to want to give back, and help those around me who may need it. I’m looking into volunteer opportunities. Feel free to suggest volunteer ideas…. Thanks!
Also, I’m coming up with ways to wear my African clothes into the cooler months. This is a bit of a dilemma for me because, since Nigeria’s weather is mostly tropical, we don’t get very cold. I’ll keep you updated on what I come up with.
This is what I wore:
Coat (F21)
Black Sweater(Urban Behavior)
Scarf/Wrap(Target)
Pants(Macys)
Shoes(Marshalls)
Bag (Target)

Happy Friday Folks! It rained ALL DAY today. Very, very dreary and wet. And since I cannot decide on rain boots that I like, I broke out my “old faithful” black boots, and wore those instead. This was one of those days that make you want to run home and jump in the covers and stay there. But Alas, I had morning classes, and work right after, so off I went. I was a bit nervous walking along in that wind and rain, that I was going to have to battle against crazy winds, meaning that I have to chase my umbrella or it flips over the wrong-side up, leaving me unprotected. Thankfully there was none of that. So as always, the name of the game was comfort. The goal was to stay warm outside and be able to peel off layers inside, and stay dry @ all times I do believe it was a success.
What i wore:
Blue Cropped Cardi(Macys)
Sequined Top(F21)
Jeans(Papaya)
Boots(Chinese Laundry)
Both Scarves(Thrifted)
Bag(Target)

Its Friday folks, aren't you glad!

Today i wore my favorite gray shirt, because to me its sooo versatile. I paired it w/ a tank underneath, because 1.) i get cold too easy, 2) i liked the look. I paired the tops w/ simple jeans, and had a scarf on earlier because it was colder in the morning. It got warmer, the scarf got discared and tied unto my purse. I had to debut my gray pumps..i usually debut items i purchase with simple outfits, allowing the desired item to shine...weird, yeah , i know.So surprisingly, these shoes are quite comfortable, however, come cooler weather, i plan on getting these stretched a bit so i can wear them comfortably with stockings. Today was the first ever game night, me and the Manfriend are scheduled to play scrabble(love words) and eat chicken wings and pizza...gotta love fridays! Adore the Manfriend! Looove these surprisingly comfortable Gray Beauties.

Going to start crediting my wonderful and patient photographers since i don't have a tripod and have subjected unsuspecting unlookers to the task of taking my pic.

Today, photography credits go to my wonderful Manfriend. Thanks Sweets!
