Ga weather is so unpredictable...lol. Unless you watch the weather forecasts, and who does that. So i stepped out of my house to head to class today, and brrr, it was a bit nippy. so i threw on this sweet sweater i found in Macys in MAY! I 've been waiting to wear it. Ok so today's outfit is a bit dark, but tomorrow, I'll bring color back. you'll see.

Africana Goes Native

Happy Sunday everyone!
I figured, since this blog is about an Africana's wardrobe diary, its only fair that you get to see me in my native clothing. I don't dress up too often, not because i don't want to, but because there are so few occasions for me to do so. But this morning, i felt inclined to dress natively. In the part of Nigeria where i hail from, this is called a Bubu. This is what i wore:

Sunday Pt 2 :New Dress

I changed in to this frock after church, because i just had to wear this dress. I got this little number on my lunch break on Friday. A coworker told me about a thrift store that she wanted me to check it out. So glad. I went and was quite fortunate, and found this dress. I like the details on it, so after church, I wore it for a lovely day spent hanging with my sisters and chilling w/ the Manfriend. This is what i wore:

Its saturday, and i really didn't want to leave my bed, after my very hectic week. But since i had to, i threw on the next best thing for days that you want to be in pajamas: a dress. An i threw in the green shoes and earrings to make it look like i put in some effort.

Blue and Golden Girl

Thursdays! Gotta love'em. My busiest days, however, its always filled with some lovely surprises.. So today, the Manfriend, decided to spend his day off shadowing me. It was loads of fun. We went to my classes, then went to a European Cafe for lunch. So today, as i do on most thursdays, i dressed for comfort and because i knew the Manfriend was tagging along. I wore this blue shirtdress that i know he likes, and wore pants underneath, because for some strange reason, i'm still uncomfortable with wearing tights. The dress came w/ a python print blue belt, but i took it out and put in my own gold skinny belt, add gold shoes and random purple scarf w/ gold accents and BAM! gold accents..lol. Here's what i wore:

It's Black And White.

Its been a while since i wore simply black and white so, today there were no splashes of color. Except my bag..Simply because i was too lazy to switch it from yesterday. Its been plenty busy in Africana Land. I've got a paper due for my econ class, a project for my cis class, and an assigment for my acct class. so no time to try to be witty today. hopefully things lighten up a bit...i doubt it though. 91 Degree Monday

I try to pre-plan my outfits...at least Monday's outfit, since i always have difficulty getting up on time on Monday morns. I picked out an outfit, but changed it this morning because per the newscaster, it was going to be a sweltering 91 degrees today. So i changed my mind and instead resorted to the old "if you don't know what to wear, put on a dress". Kept it simple because i did not want to work up a sweat running from class to work. And thanks Anchibride, i'm feeling much much better today.

Blue (Indigo) Suede Shoes

I'm feeling much better today, thanks Sheila! So for church, I finally wore the blue suede shoes that i sprinted to pick up when the lovely lady of Budget Chic posted on her blog when she found these beautiful nine west indigo pumps @ Ross. When i got to Ross, i scoured all the shoe aisles, hoping hard as i searched, that i would find the shoes in my size, and thankfully, before i left, i found these beauties, Size 8 baby!! Just my size. So i whipped off my shoes, tried on the beauties, and did a happy dance. Yes, people stared, but who cares, I'd searched high and low for shoes of this hue and i finally found them. Once again thanks to *Budget Chic*! You're awesome.
So i kept the outfit simple, as always, in order to allow the pumps to SHINE! lol.

Feeling Blue

I've got the sick blues! For some strange reason, i'm still feeling under the weather. Lots of sneezing and doing the smoker's cough(ick, i know) i figured, sassing it up a bit to start my day, especially when i'm feeling ill, usually helps me feel better. The old "look good, feel good "theory, which i hold to be true to an extent. So today, instead of my usual saturday super casual look,i wanted to wear this eye-catching blue belt (to match my blues). I 've had this pink top for ages now, and have worn it once because the arms are A Lot wider than i thought, so it cannot be worn alone. I thought it was doomed to sit in my closet till i gave it away,but i realized, that it would be great for layering. So i layered, belted up and threw on brown heels.. I liked what i saw in the mirror, and what do you know, i was able to stave off the "feeling sick blues" for most of the day. This is what i wore:

TGIF in Gray

Its Friday folks, aren't you glad!

Today i wore my favorite gray shirt, because to me its sooo versatile. I paired it w/ a tank underneath, because 1.) i get cold too easy, 2) i liked the look. I paired the tops w/ simple jeans, and had a scarf on earlier because it was colder in the morning. It got warmer, the scarf got discared and tied unto my purse. I had to debut my gray pumps..i usually debut items i purchase with simple outfits, allowing the desired item to shine...weird, yeah , i know.So surprisingly, these shoes are quite comfortable, however, come cooler weather, i plan on getting these stretched a bit so i can wear them comfortably with stockings. Today was the first ever game night, me and the Manfriend are scheduled to play scrabble(love words) and eat chicken wings and pizza...gotta love fridays! Adore the Manfriend! Looove these surprisingly comfortable Gray Beauties.

Wednesday! Hump Day! Yay!
I wasn't feeling too well when i went into work today so my wonderful Manfriend offered to cheer me up by spending the day with me.So i left work, changed into jeans, and off we went for a day of much needed us time. It was wonderful! We went to a movie and did a bit of shopping and ended the night by watching ANTM 11...yeah i know(lol), i really like Tyra, maybe deep down i want to be America's next Top Model! Kidding, that's not my thing really, but i thought i'd channel their fierceness in one of my pics.

Happy Labor Day!

Its labor day! Hope everyone's was nice and relaxing. Mine was spent working for a bit then spent the remainder hanging with my fam and Manfriend for a bit. The Manfriend really liked this dress as well which made me smile as he usually doesn't have much to say about my attempts at creativity.
