A HUGE thank you to those of you who came to my rescue by sharing your thoughts on the college major issue. I can't express to you all how much i appreciate it.
As always, when i find something i like, i can't help but wear it every chance i get. Kinda like a kid who just found a new favorite toy. My new "toy" is my little blue dress. Its such a gorgeous color and i feel like twirling each and every time i put it on.
I wore the dress with heels on sunday and on monday, i threw my floral short-sleeved blazer over it (to make it more office appropriate) and my floral flats and wore it to work.
And yes, i do realize i just wore the same dress 2 days in a row, but i really love it.

I get emails all the time about my style, and people inquiring whether or not its real. Whether i go to school and work in the ensembles that i put up. The answer is yes. I actually enjoy dressing up most of the time, and i wear my heels because i've loved them since i was 5 and played in my mother's.
But i'm not always dressed up, i have down ( busier) days, when i know i'll have to walk ALOT, running errands and things like that. And while there's nothing wrong with running errands in heels ( i do it often enough), there are times when the ease and comfort of flats are simply preferred.

The one good thing about having sisters, is having more than one closet to look into for clothes. My sister and i had a dress swap, and i ended up with this gorgeous anthro dress and she ended up with one of mine. That being said, that's the only good thing about having sisters..i joke.

I saw the print and the accordion pleats on this top and instantly fell in love. I initially thought it was a skirt and spent a good 3 minutes trying to pull this top over my legs. I gave up that method and tried to pull it on over my head and planned to shimmy it down to my waist when i discovered it was a top. I laughed so hard i bet the people in the neighboring stalls thought i was a little nuts.

Anyone who's glanced at this blog for longer than 2mins can safely conclude that i'm a sucker for dresses. Especially in the spring and summer months as i like to to dress in clothes that are suitable for a afternoon picnic outside on a blanket reading, eating and laughing till my mouth and sides are sore. I love picnics so if a dress doesn't pass this requirement, it probably won't get much mileage in my closet.
Meet one of our own, blogger and designer Akpos Okudu, whose dresses pass the picnic test in my book.The dresses seem comfortable and are beautifully feminine with a variety of hemlines. The simple silhouettes add a subtle elegance without being too serious. Perfect for sunny afternoons and fun summer nights. My favorite is the one shoulder pinkish floor length number (and i usually don't like long dresses)
* Look, even the models can't resist The Pull of the Picnic dresses. The designer herself confirmed that even during the photoshoot (as seen in the 2nd pic from the bottom) they had to stop and have a picnic of their own.

I'm showing off this beautiful jacket that i found while thrifting. I think its custom made because it has no tags and it came with a matching dress, that i opted not to get. I figured that it'd be a little too much for me... but now i want the dress. I went back to look, but of course it was gone. Lesson learned: no more second guessing while hunting (thrifting).
My sister mentioned to me that i'm a bit overdressed for work. My witty response: aren't i always.

My crazy May schedule of 8am classes and then dashing off to work is winding down and i couldn't be happier. It was absolutely liberating to sleep past 6am this morning, and i even went to the park with the Manfriend before heading to work.The flowers are in bloom, songs of nature fill the air, and i fit right in with this really colorful floral jacket.
