Weekend Planner: April 23rd- 25th

INMAN PARK FESTIVAL
When:April 24:11 a.m.-8:30 p.m. April 25 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
Where: Euclid Avenue N.E. and Elizabeth Street N.E.
Why: Its FREE! plus its been running for 39years, so they must be doing something right. There's a street market, arts and crafts show, parade, some live music and dance.


ALPHARETTA ARTS STREETFEST
When: April 24 and 25 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Where: Milton Avenue between Main Street and Roswell-Canton Street, Alpharetta
Why: It's also FREE!! Come and meet local and out-of-state artists as they show off their paintings, mixed media, photography and pottery. And the rest of us wannabe artists can watch a potter’s wheel demonstration and even get our hands dirty with interactive arts like watercolors. There'll also be live music, "multicultural" dancing and food.

FERIA LATINA
When:April 25th Noon-10pm
Where: The Memorial Lawn @ Stone Mountain Park
Why:To add some Latin spice to your life. Its going to be a Latino cultural celebration featuring big-name Latino music acts from around the globe, as well as Dance troupes, Latino celebrities and DJs. And there'll be delicious Latin cuisine.
This event is FREE, but there is a $10 parking fee per vehicle.

Polka Dots

There's a quirky charm in polka dots that i kinda dig which is why it didn't take me long to decided on whether or not i needed another polka dotted skirt among other things from H & M. I broke down and decided to get it because everyone needs a polka dotted skirt right?
I kept the outfit super simple because, i wanted the polka dots to pop during their first exposure. I definitely can't wait to play around with this skirt in the coming months.

Busy as a Bee

This weekend was one of the busiest ever! Planning and executing an event for over 50people is quite a feat. I didn't even make it out to any of the numerous festivities this weekend. I kept my outfit basic for saturday as i ended up just running errands, wearing a silk blouse from urban, a thrifted black skirt from oldnavy and black micheal kors heels that i don't wear often enough. I did end up changing into flats though.

Straight Lines

I wear stripes alot! My favorite striped combo till date, is wearing it with this electric blue skirt, plus the skirt has pockets. LOVE! For something a litte different, i've worn my peachy platforms. Just to add a different twist of color.

Weekend Planner

Ok guys, i'm trying out something new here...please weigh in with your thoughts and opinions... Thanks in advance.

I've decided to do a weekend activity guide for Atlanta, as well as hidden treasures to check out Atlanta... Nothing major, just a few different spots here and there that i think might be of interest to my readers in the A, or who are visiting the A.
I am open to suggestions and ideas as i explore the city with my NEW CAMERA courtesy of the boyfriend for my birthday (Thank you LUV!!!)
As far as why i've decided to do this, i try to plan my weekends during the week(to give me something to look forward) and figured someone else would benefit from my hardwork...Oh the things i do for you guys...:-)

* If you're a music lover, head down to Criminal Records down at Little Five Points for:
Record Store Day 2010!
This event will take place on Saturday, April 17th and its FREE.

It's an all-day "Customer Appreciation Party" featuring 8 live bands,

Looking For A Hero

Hi guys!!!
I promise you i'm still alive. Its just gotten hella busy around these parts... with school in overdrive as we're counting down to the end of the semester, this past few days have been a fury of tests, papers and projects. GRRR.
I wore this outfit because the African Student Association had an event scheduled on Wednesday last week. I didn't even get a chance to go and show the outfit off because i had to spend the day holed up writing a 10-page paper...GRRRR. I guess i'll show it off to you guys :-)
I'm also going to get sappy for a minute as i just want to thank my lovely readers who continue to read and comment. It is much much appreciated!!

My "bustier top" is actually this romper, worn under a skirt. And this jean top, is my new spring/summer cover-up/cardi. I've been wearing it over absolutely everything. And will probably take it to the beach in a few weeks.

Easter.

I knew that from the moment i saw this dress, way back in october, that it was going to be my Easter dress. I've worn it once before due to my impatience because I didn't want to wait till April to finally wear this dress. You guys know i'm a big fan of the 50's silhouette, so anything that allows me to channel that is gold in my book.

Street Warrior

Oh the glorious weather that comes with the arrival of spring. Atlanta's finally getting a taste of that sweet sweet gorgeous weather that comes with spring. It feels like people are in better moods and spirits appear to be lifted. I'm loving it all...And I'm definitely ready for the weekend!
