Sometimes, even when you don't have time, you have to take time for yourself. I've kinda been on edge this week, just because the end of the semester is soooo close i can practically taste the freedom of not having to wake up at 6am daily...lol. Which means, right now i'm up to my eyeballs in exams...
Anyway, i felt like i had to take random breaks for myself btwn studying...whether for power napping (essential) or just dancing...just to feel sane!
And yes, i do dress up even while i'm cramming for exams. I'm a staunch believer of Look Good, Feel Good, Do Great!!

This weekend was one of the busiest ever! Planning and executing an event for over 50people is quite a feat. I didn't even make it out to any of the numerous festivities this weekend. I kept my outfit basic for saturday as i ended up just running errands, wearing a silk blouse from urban, a thrifted black skirt from oldnavy and black micheal kors heels that i don't wear often enough. I did end up changing into flats though.

Hi guys!!!
I promise you i'm still alive. Its just gotten hella busy around these parts... with school in overdrive as we're counting down to the end of the semester, this past few days have been a fury of tests, papers and projects. GRRR.
I wore this outfit because the African Student Association had an event scheduled on Wednesday last week. I didn't even get a chance to go and show the outfit off because i had to spend the day holed up writing a 10-page paper...GRRRR. I guess i'll show it off to you guys :-)
I'm also going to get sappy for a minute as i just want to thank my lovely readers who continue to read and comment. It is much much appreciated!!

My "bustier top" is actually this romper, worn under a skirt. And this jean top, is my new spring/summer cover-up/cardi. I've been wearing it over absolutely everything. And will probably take it to the beach in a few weeks.

I'm so glad its warmed up these past few days. I love super easy days like this one. Spent hanging out with my family, and then met up for brunch turned lunch with my girls. Good times...
My blouse belonged to my mother. I was searching for something to borrow when i saw this blouse. I paired it with my new pale pink platforms...they're quite comfortable... i think i'm in love.

Happy Monday!!
I had a pretty chaotic weekend but found a few moments to just relax. Very few things can beat easy fall days, with the sun shining, hanging out with my siblings.

Another outfit inspired by the beautiful fall foliage. And introducing one of my blazer purchases from the summer. A blazer i like to call, the "Red Blaze"...lol, yes i know its weird to name your clothes and to that i have no good response. But,I've been waiting for the weather to cool down so i could wear this blazer comfortably. I'm loving how easily it transforms a basic outfit into something a bit more exciting.
*And to answer the numerous questions i've received about these platforms, from readers and just random ppl who've seen me in them.
And my answer is:
Yes, the platforms are quite high, but they're quite comfortable. No joke.

One of my favorite things about fall? Blazers...I've built a small collection over the summer. But this black one remains my ALL TIME FAVORITE. I like to call it "old faithful" because no matter how many blazers i acquire, I feel like i'll never tire of this one. Also because i'm pretty sure it complements every single item in my closet. Here's another blouse that's been sitting in my closet waiting for a turn to shine in the blog spotlight. Its a few sizes too big, but it gained access into my closet, thru its fun colors and vibrant print. So for all you blouses out there vying for a spot in my closet, there's only one requirement: be vibrant colored or printed. Bonus points for both.

Black Mondays is back, after a summer long hiatus because w/ summer comes florals and loads of color which for the most part inspired me to infuse color to most of my outfits. But its cooling off, and with school back in full swing, mondays are back to being a bit blah...and therefore i waste too much time standing in front of my closet deciding what to wear.Thankfully, i have "Black Mondays" aka, my time tested and foolproof plan.
Oh and i took these pics..bear with me, am still figuring out the right and wrong spots to take pics. What i need is a nice brick wall, because i noticed a lot of crazy looks from ppl who saw me trying to pose with this tractor in the background. I can't say i blame them.

Since i rep Nigeria hard, all day everyday, i decided to just keep it simple. My men's button-down shirt was simple and had green and white which was my only requirement. I also got new ankle boots from charlotte russe and i have to say, they're mostly comfortable...They definitely not meant for walking for extended periods of time (i found that out the hard and painful way). My favorite part of this whole outfit..my knee/thigh high socks..LOVE. They keep legs warm without the fuss of tights/pantyhose..

I really like the simple colors of this blouse. And this giant clutch...yes. It called my name when i saw it a few months ago. Its perfect for days when i don't want to haul my world around in my usual big bagged glory.Like today.
Oh, and something that caught me completely off guard this weekend:
Do most women start from their shoes and work their way up when planning an outfit?
I'd never heard of this until this past weekend...and i've heard it from 2 unrelated sources...(aka it came from friends who donot know each other. lol)
Educate me guys, is it true or am i just completely out of the loop?

I rarely post pics of myself when i go out in party gear because of 2 reasons:
1) i usually decide to go out at the last min,so i never remember to take pics
2) i usually just throw on shorts, a tank and heels... i like it super simple and to me those outfits are not really blog worthy
But this past weekend, i made plans w/ some friends to meet up after work for drinks and dancing. So i broke out my current favorite outfit aka the romper and threw a skirt on over it for a corset look. The jacket was for work, and was thrown off when it was time to dance.
Hi i'm Diane and i kill favorite clothes by wearing them to death. Sharing is caring.

I probably have no need to repeat that i love clothes that can multitask. I figured my mustard colored dress was the perfect item to break up the basic black and white combo i started off with. You can go here to see the dress in its entirety. I love the way the ruffles sit on the cardi...just right.

This is an older outfit that i didn't get a chance to post. I'm in my fave sneakers and tutu-skirt and i spent the whole day at school. The upside, the library doesn't get crowded so whenever i was out of sight, i twirled. Blame it on the skirt. Seriously

I walked past this purple tuxedo styled shirt 4 times before finally picking it up. As always, the color grabbed my attention. That and the fact that this shirt had so much drama going on. From the eye-catching color, to the unusually billowy sleeves, to the tuxedo styled pleats. I couldn't resist. I kept the rest of the outfit relatively simple, then threw in the dark green belt..why? idk, it makes sense to me though.

Ok, just in case a few ppl noticed that i'm posting a bit less and not commenting on your blogs anymore, its because school is back in full swing. And between a full-time job, a heavy course load which includes lots of homework, being an active blogger has gotten a lot harder for me to pull off, so forgive me. I'm debating quitting blogging but this is a fun creative outlet for me,so we'll see what happens. In the mean time,i'm gonna try something new. I'm disabling my comments for a while, so no one feels obligated to comment as i won't be able to comment back like i usually do. But if there's anything u want me to know, drop me a line thru my email because i reply emails for sure.

Outfitwise, please scroll down to the dress i cut a few days ago...go ahead....

Ok, welcome back. When i cut the dress, i saved the scraps because i REALLY LOVE the fabric. I reworked it into a kinda cropped top. Thankfully, no sewing was involved in the reworking. Problem is, i have no idea where i'll be wearing this outfit...maybe tonight when i meet up with some friends. Problem solved. TGIF!!
