I've never seen the movie Nurse Betty despite a few random attempts but for the first part of my day, i was convinced that i was channeling an old school nurse attire. I had a long day planned, and it was ridiculously hot, so simple and lightweight was the obvious choice.

P.S: I will be posting a tutorial about the scarf from the post below :-) Stay Tuned!!!!!
This past weekend, i lived in variations of this outfit. I learned how to tie my scarf in an "updo" from my younger sister and wore it all weekend, the few times i left my house. I was pretty much room bound studying for an upcoming exam. I hope all my studying pays off, even though it was a little inconsistent as i kept getting distracted by the World Cup...

How gorgeous are these pictures??? An African twist on the usual tea-party ensemble.
Makes me wish someone would invite me to a tea-party of some sort.
Till then, i can just live vicariously thru these photos.
Enjoy!

I wore this super simple and easy outfit to school. Which was perfect because temperatures were at an all time high, with a lot of humidity. This weather makes me want to lay inside and in bed all day, where its cool. As is usual with first days, there was lots of running around and numerous trips to the library. And i really missed my bed. I can't tell you guys how glad i was to return home and fall into its cool embrace.

I'm seriously in love with this striped top. I wore it with a whitish/creme skirt this time, to give it a lighter, more summery feel. I had to break out my favorite francesca bag as i had to haul around more things. For my newer readers, this bag used to be my everyday bag last year during the school year. It served its time faithfully so i decided to retire it for a while.

Dear Summertime,

I wrote this beautiful poem in your honor after being inspired by my summery skirt, and the trees and balmy breeze blowing by:

Roses are red,
Violets are blue
Summertime is beautiful
And relaxing too!

LEARN TO LIVE IN YOUR OWN WORLD. TAKE THE DARE. LAUGH AT YOURSELF. SAY HOW YOU REALLY FEEL. THANK GOD. BE AS COOL AS YOU WANT. KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN. NEVER SETTLE. MISTAKES ARE OKAY. HAVE FUN. BE YOURSELF. LIVE YOUR LIFE."

Pretty much sums up my intentions for the summer.

Hello Lovelies!!

I hope everyone thoroughly enjoyed their Memorial Day Weekend. Hopefully we all kept in mind the reason for the day.

As much as i love flashy shiny things, i also love simplicity. Which is the word that summed up my look for a majority of the memorial weekend celebrations. And to me nothing says simple, like a dress. And i didn't realize till now that my outfit is completely Targeted...get it?? Because i got it all from Target. Not all at the same time though.
I missed out on the Cynthia Vincent platforms, so i went with these instead. And the dress i've had for about a year or two.
