3. Someone in a dress and boots..
So you see, any answer will do...lol
I went to work and afterwards the plan is to meet up w/ a few folks and then decide whether to just stay in and hang, or head out to a Halloween party. Either way, should be fun!

First off, a special thanks to all you lovely ladies who wished me well during my rough times this week. It was very much appreciated and it definitely made my day!
The name of the game today, as it is most days, was comfort, because i had to stand in line for almost 3hours as i waited in line to vote, and i was told that it was a good day. I keep hearing horror stories on the news about how people(in georgia) are waiting in lines for up to 8hrs (ahhh). Not to say its not a good thing that people are excited to vote. So for the event, I dressed in layers, and thankfully so because it was really cold in the shaded areas, and heated in the sunlight. My advice to those who still haven't voted:
1. Bring a chair - around these parts, the lines tend to be long and after the first hour of little to no movement, your feet will start to hurt.
2. Bring something to keep you occupied and entertained. i brought my trusty Mp3 ,a book ,as well as took dance breaks to stretch my legs. People watching was also fun...however, it probably would have been more fun with a friend. Which leads me to the next one..
3.Bring someone who'll keep you entertained and vice versa. I do believe it'll make time go by a little bit faster and a bit more fun too.
4. Last but not least, and definitely the most important, bring your Patience and lots of it. In events involving the gathering of all people types, colors, sizes, things can get a bit crazy. But armed with patience, things should go fairly smoothly.
5. And you should probably bring your ID, but that goes without saying...
This is what i wore:

Its pink and black again today and no face pics on account of the fact that i was upset when the pics were taken. And the fact that i morph into this monster when i get upset: Swollen face, red eyes, the whole shebang...lol. But i'm seemingly better now, hoping that all will work itself out in God's time.
Unto more cheerful or lighter subjects, my outfit. I've layered a summer halter top over a turtle neck and wore pink tights to accentuate the pink in the top. Whoo!! for getting mileage out of summer clothes...I do feel like i should have chosen different shoes though...what do you lovely readers think?

Today is considerably off to a better start. I’m wearing a scarf which is doubling as my hat on this cold fall morning, so forgive the hat hair. In a bit of the spirit of yesterday, I’m realizing more and more, that although there’s always little things that everyone wishes they can change; however, for the most part, I’m blessed. And that realization has led me to want to give back, and help those around me who may need it. I’m looking into volunteer opportunities. Feel free to suggest volunteer ideas…. Thanks!
Also, I’m coming up with ways to wear my African clothes into the cooler months. This is a bit of a dilemma for me because, since Nigeria’s weather is mostly tropical, we don’t get very cold. I’ll keep you updated on what I come up with.
This is what I wore:
Coat (F21)
Black Sweater(Urban Behavior)
Scarf/Wrap(Target)
Pants(Macys)
Shoes(Marshalls)

Today, has to be one of the worst days I’ve had in a while! I lost a loved one, got a speeding ticket AND broke the handle off my car door…this day left me speechless. And while it’s easy to just be furious !(which I was for a while), I decided to calm down and tried to count my blessings. I got up to 5 ways that I was blessed before I started to feel ok. Here’s to hoping that tomorrow will be a better day.
This is what I wore to :
Black Vest(Macys)
Shirt(Macys)
Pants(Papaya)
Shoes(Ross)

By the way, my pics were taken before my day went downhill...

The best thing about being a woman, is her perogative to have a little fun....

Man, I feel like a woman, ow, ow....lol.

Something about this shirt...makes me feel as feminine and womanly as i can get without wearing a dress. I love it!
Because i can read your thoughts from time to time, I'm sure its crossed someone's mind while looking @ this week's outfits: Why does she keeping using that same bag?The reason : LAZINESS. this week, there's just been way to much going on for me to take the time and switch purses. Plus, i secretly think that my nonmatching random purse adds a bit of charm to my outfits...lol.
I digress. Back to my womanly outfit: This is what i wore:
Top (Dots from a few years ago)
Jacket ( Macy)Jeans ( Macys)

Happy Friday Folks! It rained ALL DAY today. Very, very dreary and wet. And since I cannot decide on rain boots that I like, I broke out my “old faithful” black boots, and wore those instead. This was one of those days that make you want to run home and jump in the covers and stay there. But Alas, I had morning classes, and work right after, so off I went. I was a bit nervous walking along in that wind and rain, that I was going to have to battle against crazy winds, meaning that I have to chase my umbrella or it flips over the wrong-side up, leaving me unprotected. Thankfully there was none of that. So as always, the name of the game was comfort. The goal was to stay warm outside and be able to peel off layers inside, and stay dry @ all times I do believe it was a success.

Show a picture of those who awarded you and those you give the prize (optional).List [if you can and/or dare] at least ten honest things about yourself. And then, pass it on.”

*I was hoping to not have to scare you guys with crazy tidbits about myself but no such luck. Here ‘s 10 things about me that you can’t tell @ a glance, which I like to call: The crazy behind the cool…lol.*

1. I think scars make people interesting, there’s always a story behind them, and I have plenty of stories behind my major scars The scar on my right knee that I’m pretty proud of is the first battle scar I remember getting. I was jumping up and down on a broken couch and fell on a random nail that was sticking out (but I didn’t see) and it impaled the inside of my right leg by my knee.

2. I had this weird fascination with glasses. I thought they were the coolest thing ever. I used to beg God to worsen my vision so that I’d need glasses…I know it’s weird, it’s just as a little girl of 7 or 8 years old, all the cool adults I knew wore glasses.

3. I feel weird talking about guys hitting on me. Even to my friends.. I get really uncomfortable, so I just omit it from stories and conversations… I have no idea why…I’m really interested in this, so if anyone reading this has any input as to why, please feel free to comment..

4. When I first arrived in the states, when eating a pepperoni pizza, I used to take the cheese off , and then put the pepperoni back on, I’ve grown to like the cheese on pepperoni pizza, but I’m still not too much of a cheese fan.

5. I get a little angry when people ask me why I smile so much. Why would one ask someone else why they smile SO MUCH? Like it’s a bad thing to smile….GRR, I’m getting upset thinking about it..lol

6. I love things a lot of people (like my Manfriend and my sisters) consider “corny”. That ranges from movies that may make me cry (Anyone seen P.S I Love You / The Notebook) to things like random celebrations of “Friend-vesaries” and half-birthdays .

7. It has recently been brought to my attention that if I’m eating a meal, say @ a restaurant and I’m enjoying it, I start dancing..…lol. I know that’s a bit odd. Now, if my attention is diverted, like I’m watching a movie or reading while I eat, I don’t dance.

8. Reading is my passion, and If I find a really, really good book, I get a little sad when its ending.

9. I’m terrified that I’ll never figure out the “right” career field so I like talking to people who love their careers and jobs because I’m hoping whatever helped them figure it out will somehow magically make it clear to me what my passion (career-wise ) is.

10. I decided to start blogging in March of this year. I got really excited, and hyped it up to anyone who would listen. Then I got too busy and got bored doing it. That whole rise of my blogging lasted a week...ok 3 days to be exact. My friends and family who knew about my fall from blogging, mocked me and my attention span ( ! It’s not my fault I get bored quite easily. People and things get boring..lol) Then in August, because I’m stubborn and hate being a quitter, I jumped back on the blogging bandwagon. And so far, I’m not bored yet..

To all you lovely ladies, consider yourself tagged. Especially you: Sheila of Ephemera, and Miss Fashion Guru!
I'm always being told that purple is my favorite color, and until now, i always say that its the colors of the rainbow, and my favorite color depends on the day in question. However, with this wardrobe diary, i do think i'm very inclined toward purple. That scarf that looks like pale lilac, is actually a more purple-ish color.
This is what i wore:
Coat (Urban Behaviour)
Purple Scarf (Rugged Wearhouse)
Black Sweater (Macys)
Jeans (Forever 21)
Boots(Payless from years ago)
Bag (Target)

Today was one of those days, where i had an outfit planned, and then this morning, the outfit looked absolutely awful. So i had to put something else together. This is how i wore this dress the last time i wore it. This time, i winterized it as you can see, with tights and a turtleneck. I'm wearing a faux leather jacket that's been sitting in my closet for a while now. Somehow, its now bothering me that this three-quarter sleeve jacket may not be so practical for upcoming winter. I knew that when i bought it, but i got anyway because with all of my jackets, i usually end up pushing the sleeves up anyway. I'm now weighing my options: invest in another long sleeved jacket , or just stick with this one by layering this jacket w/ longer sleeved shirts underneath. Any thoughts?

Dress(Macys)
Turtle Neck( Macys)
Tights (Chinese Laundry)

I couldn't make my mind up on what i wanted to wear today. I'm trying to walk that fine line between dressing my age and dressing for work. Granted, my workplace is pretty laid back with a business casual atmosphere, thank goodness, i donot think i'd ever be comfortable enough to wear my tights as pants to work, but that's just me. So today, i was already dressed before realized, this may be a bit risque(length of the skirt) for work. But, you live and you learn, so I decided to stick with what i had on. But by the time my morning classes were over, i decided to try a more laid back look. I still couldn't decide which look would have been best, but i went with the laid back look for work today.
Blue-Green Sweater( TJ Maxx)

Happy Monday Folks!
I’m having a pretty good Monday today, maybe due to adequate planning…from my outfit to my lunch, I didn’t even grumble or try to kill my alarm when it went off this morning. It’s probably the excitement from the cool weather, which means I get to wear my beautiful jacket, which I named the S.S Fabulosa ( I know that’s a name more befitting of a boat than a jacket, but it’s a reminder of the boat I will one day own.) So unto the rest of my outfit…the beret, actually belongs to my Manfriend, I “borrowed” it from his closet a while ago, he says it’s a remnant of his “stylish” boyhood days. The feather brooch is mine, added to “glam up” the rest of my basic office-wear.
This is what I wore:
Jacket ( Urban Behavior)
Shirt (New York and Co)
Slacks (Papaya)
Green Pumps (Bakers)
Beret (“Borrowed”)
Feather Brooch (Thrifted)
