Spotlight: Wax Print

African countries use many differeny types and styles of fabrics when making clothing. In Nigeria wax print fabric, also called ankara, is one of the most utilized fabrics when making native clothes. This fabric’s versatility, with a multitude of prints and designs, allows it to be dressed up and dressed down; making it a favorite of many designers and has kept it rightfully for so as long as I can remember.
Vlisco is a company that makes these wax print fabric, and I’m highlighting them because of their spring collection of prints called Urban Beats. I’m in love with the modern styles that is used to display the prints.Feel free to click on each pic to enlarge. Enjoy!
