Like A Boy

When I was a little girl of about 8 years old, I wanted to a little boy. Not for any serious reasons, but for the simple fact that boys got to have more fun. While I would have to wear dresses and sit primly on the side and play cook(so that my dress didn’t get dirty) , my male cousins got to run around and climb things and “just be boys”.

As I got older , I became more convinced that my life would be much, much easier if I was a boy. My parents would not worry as much about me, therefore allowing me more privileges than is normally allowed to female teens. Now I’m no longer a teen…(hehe I’m in my 20s now) and in my matured wisdom, I have come to accept and love the fact that I am a girl..a young lady now.

While it is a bit more difficult for women due to the slow acceleration of gender equality in the world, many women are out there proving that we(women) can do it just as well as men can. And, we’re doing it while looking absolutely Fabulous!

So with all that being said, I was decided to do menswear today. I do wish I had a pair of oxford pumps to really complete this look ...I think I’m the only girl that still doesn’t have a pair.
This is what I wore:
Blazer (Vintage)
White shirt (Macys)
Black Pants (Papaya)
Shoes (BCBG Girls)

Being a girl is great - we get to dress up!! My boy constantly complains about how males can't really dress up that much because its always going to be a suit, where as we get to pick from dresses, skirts, suits, jewellery, hair, make up, its endless!

The shoes are perfect! Granny shoes would not have rocked this outfit properly.

I love the contrast of the formal and the not-so-formal - I have that same belt!
