Africana Goes Native

Happy Sunday everyone!
I figured, since this blog is about an Africana's wardrobe diary, its only fair that you get to see me in my native clothing. I don't dress up too often, not because i don't want to, but because there are so few occasions for me to do so. But this morning, i felt inclined to dress natively. In the part of Nigeria where i hail from, this is called a Bubu. This is what i wore:
Bubu (Custom -made)
Silver Shoes (Dillards)

Wow, that's gorgeous! We see a lot of Indian saris in my part of the world - the fabric reminds me of them.

OMG that is gooooooooorgeous!

Reminds me a bit of the saris we wear in Sri Lanka, my native country, and how there's just never an occasion to wear them here (since American functions like weddings and parties are so much more casual).

That mint-y blue-green shade is one of my fave colors!
