Black And Bright Blue

It was a beautiful thing waking up this morning and recalling the news that our newly elected president is Barack Obama. This election is the first time i' ve been able to vote, and this election has been the most exciting election event i've seen yet. It feels great to know that when my children look back on this immensely historical election, i can proudly tell them that i not only lived thru it, but i also partook in the making of this history as well.

Since i spent last night watching the elections come to a close, i didn't have enough time to properly plan for the day ahead. So it took me a while to come up with something worth wearing this morning. I must have tried on countless outfits and combinations before finally settling on my bright blue skirt as the foundation piece from which to build on.

This is what i wore:
Black Jacket(Papaya)
Black shirt (Target)
Bright Blue Skirt( Thrifted)
Shoes(Shoeland)

I love the skirt! I had a high-waisted one like this that I bought in 1987. I hung on to it for soooo long, then finally let it go when I gained too much weight to ever wear it again (so I thought).

Coloured skirts are fab. You look amazing!

Congratulations on your new president!

Very cute outfit, love the brilliant blue!

How great that the first time you get to vote was in such an historic election -- and that your vote helped put such an inspiring man in office is icing on the cake :)
