Ways To Tie A Scarf: Part 1

Scarves are one of my favorite accesories because they are great for just about everything. I'm sure most people have this information already, but i'll do posts on it anyway as a reminder of the versatility of scarves.

Part 1: How to tie your scarf as a hat.

I like to do this because i cannot wear most hats for anymore than 2 hours. I start to get a really bad headache, i get cranky, its not fun for anyone. So i thought, why not decorate my head with something that easy and light...hence a scarf..
Now this will work for most scarfs of a medium-large size.

Step 1: Fold the scarf in half. I usually like to make one half (slightly)bigger than the other.

Step 2: Place the scarf on your head, already exposing the part of the front of your head(hair) that you'd like to leave exposed.

Step 3: Gather the "wings" or the 2 ends of the scarf and place a knot on top of the "body" (main section) of the scarf.

Step 4: Tighten the 1st knot, and make another knot and tighten that one as well. This is to well secure the scarf, making sure it does not slip off at inopportune moments.

Step 5: Now pull the "body" out from underneath the "wings" to the extent of your preference.

*Now if you pull too much and pull the whole thing out (like i just did in this pic)

Simply tuck it back in like i'm doing here

TA-DA !!!

And for a little reinforcement, if the scarf does not feel secure, you can use bobby pins like i do...(you may need to look closely to see the pin in the pic)

*Part 2 to come...
